Lost marks a deeply personal chapter in Sylvia Bennett’s artistic history. Co-written and produced with acclaimed bassist Brendan Rothwell, this contemporary vocal jazz single explores themes of healing, rediscovery, and emotional connection. It is Sylvia’s first original composition since the passing of her husband: a song born from resilience, friendship, and renewal.
The two artists first met at Sandy Shore’s Jazz Weekender in 2020 and remained connected through regular virtual conversations. Over time, that friendship naturally evolved into a creative partnership, with Rothwell co-writing and producing Lost.
“Lost stands as a testament to the power of music to heal and inspire,” says Bennett. “Brendan’s musicianship and creativity brought out the best in me, and together we found a sound that feels honest, intimate, and alive.” Rothwell adds, “Sylvia’s voice carries emotion in a way that instantly connects with the audience. This collaboration is about trust, empathy, and rediscovering joy in the creative process.”
One part jazz, one part pop, and one part pure allure, Italian-born and American-raised Sylvia Bennett is a Grammy-nominated recording artist whose voice bridges timeless sophistication with heartfelt emotion. Fans of Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand, and Rosemary Clooney will find an instant connection in Sylvia’s warm, expressive sound. Sylvia was discovered by jazz legend Lionel Hampton and has since enjoyed a remarkable career performing on prestigious stages worldwide, including Presidential Inaugurations. Sylvia's prolific recording career spans more than a dozen albums, including Songs From the Heart, Smile, This Love Is Real, Reflections, and her 2024 release Amazing Love.
