Canadian bassist, composer and producer Brendan Rothwell has built a distinctive voice in contemporary jazz, with over 10 million streams across digital platforms and radio airplay reaching audiences worldwide. His groove-driven sound blends expressive bass lines, memorable melodies, and modern production into music that resonates with listeners everywhere.

Inspired by Miles Davis' landmark 1986 album Tutu and the revolutionary bass playing of Marcus Miller, Brendan has spent decades developing a style that is both melodic and unmistakably his own: a musical identity first sparked by the piano, the instrument that ignited his lifelong passion for music before the bass became his voice.

As his profile continues to grow, Brendan has built a reputation as a first-call bassist, contributing bass performance, composition and production to recordings by respected artists including saxophonist Wayne Gutshall, vocalist Sylvia Bennett, bassist Christian de Mesones, and guitarist Reza Khan. His playing can be heard on Khan's albums Mystical (2024), including the acclaimed single "Language of Love" featuring legendary pianist Bob James, and Shadow Dancers (2026).

Brendan's third solo album, Destiny (2022), marked a defining step in the evolution of his artistic voice. The twelve-track collection showcases his expressive bass playing while reintroducing the acoustic and electric piano — the instrument that started it all — creating a rich, evocative sound that continues to shape his work today.
